Tarot Chess

Official Rules

Tarot Chess plays like Chess, with Tarot cards used to power pieces.
Take opponent's King to win; there is no checking.
Cards envoke special powers. Use them to promote Pawns, castle, and more. Pawns cannot initially move 2 spaces forward: this game is fast-paced enough!
The game is drawn if the cards run out or both players die on the same turn.

Turns

Players draw a card; White then Black take turns to:
Cast cards onto pieces; allow opponent to react; move if able; discard momentary cards.

Cards are referred to as Talismans, Amulets, Magic, and Elements.
Talismans and Amulets permanently enchant pieces, whereas Magic is momentary.

Talismans (Major Taro 0-7)

Amulets (Major Taro 8-14)

Magic (Major Taro 15-21)

Elements (Minor Tarot Suits)

#p_Swords# Defending pieces powered by Element cards destroy attackers with lesser power, and survive.
#p_Cups# Place multiple Elements on a piece to add power.
#p_Wands#Depending on game options, attached Elements either come off after each turn, or reduce in power by their foes' strengths.
#p_Disks#Pieces reduced to power 1 in battle lose their Elements.
